Review: Arduino Based RFID Reader

There are many Identification N Data Collection systems: RFID Reader with Tags, Barcodes, and Magnetic Cards etc. For short range systems RFID Reader with tags is most suitable as it is contactless and robust in nature.

ArduinoRFIDReader_2016

Objective: Constructing a system or add-on module which reads RFID tags using RFID Reader and displays its number on suitable display module. Note that system only detects Tags and displays its number and nothing does like controlling any gate for automation toll gate or attendance marking etc. The RFID reader works with contactless cards, reading area must be suitably chosen such that no interference is observed while reading cards.

The system comprised of Arduino based Controller Module, Display Module and RFID Reader with suitable Tags or RFID Cards. When any suitable tag is brought near the RFID Reader, contactless it reads tag number and sends it to Controller Module for further processing purpose. The Controller Module with the help of its memory resident program reads tag number and displays it on Display Module.

Applications:

¾    Authentication system, security access system, attendance system, inventory management, livestock management etc.
