When precision control is needed servo motors are used, such as in robotics, industrial machines, CNC machines, Security camera controls, automation gadgets, sophisticated toys etc.
Objective: To construct a system which shows how servo motor rotates, when PPM [Pulse Position Modulation] is supplied either through program automatically or by external potentiometer.
Note that here servo motor is directly driven by Controller Module and needs such motor for interface purpose.
Methodology is simple, there are two modes: one controlling motor through code or program; and secondly with the help of potentiometer connected to Controller Module. In first mode, program rotates servo motor connected to PWM pin in one degree at time, till it reaches +180 and then again rotates anti-clockwise till it reaches -180 degree or zero position. In second mode, user rotates the potentiometer connected to Input pin of Controller Module and in result rotates servo motor between -180 to 0 & to +180 degrees.
Applications:
¾ CNC machines uses precision control systems there servo motors are widely used.
¾ Can be used in door open/close task, small robotic applications, angular control of security cameras, etc.
¾ Used in solar tracking system for tracking sun along with solar panels for high efficiency purpose.
