Bluetooth is the buzz word, while designing any automation system for study purpose. Automation of Home/Work place is common using short range communication technology, called Bluetooth. The Bluetooth enabled Android Mobile Phone or Computer can be used as remote control device by sitting at central, safe and comfortable place.
Objective: The construction of system which allows user to fit automation units in each room and program their trigger actions by central Computer wirelessly. Note that getting current status of the controlling device can also be implemented with slight code and hardware change at both ends.
The system has two parts: Program End and Automation End. At Program End user sends control command via its Communication Module to Automation Ends. At the Automation End such commands are received on Communication Module, decoded with memory resident program and send to Load Controller Module for execution purpose. For example if Room Temperature monitoring value is set by control command, the Automation End does so with the help of Temperature Sensor Module and if sensed value crosses set value turns ON/OFF Air-conditioner or Fan/Cooler. The current status of the Automation End is shown on its Display Module for local information purpose.
This full-scale device control system uses USB or UART as Host Control Interface (HCI). The range of the system is defined by used Bluetooth's communication range.
Since mains operated devices are controlled, more care needed while designing and controlling system.
Applications & Features:
The system is used as wireless remote control System at home/work-place.
Since single point control is possible, useful for non-technical people.
Since system is embedded type and wireless, portability is done very easily. Changing control device is very easy.
