Review: Proximity Sensor Based Digital Counter

Digital Counters are used every-where counting is needed without direct contact with the counting material viz., metal detector, parking areas, public places, speed of motor, products passing conveyer line etc.
Pantech_ProximitySensDigitalCounter
Objective: The construction of system which allows user to count number of repeats in up-count or down-count mode digitally. Note that proximity sensor is used as counting device and not direct contact is needed with counting material.

This circuit divided in two parts: sensor and counter display. The sensor would detect the Metal and provide an input to the controller which would run the counter in raising edge / falling edge mode depending upon the selector setting. The same count is displayed on a set of LCD through the controller.

Since contact-less proximity sensor is used for counting; more care needed while designing and calibrating system [for false trigger].

Applications & Features:
The system is used as Digital Counter System at home/work-place.
Since single point control is possible, useful for non-technical people.
Since system is embedded type and compact, portability is done very easily. Changing counting material is very easy as it is contact-less counting system.
