Automation of Home/Work place is common using embedded technology and tools. An embedded based stand-alone automation system makes user life less stressful. The automatic temperature controlled cooling system is one such system.
Objective: The construction of system which monitors room-temperature and if rises or falls below set value automatically turns on/off cooler/heater or Air-conditioner. Note that an alert message or SMS will be sent to remote user about temperature change, which is useful if monitoring area is of elderly people-house or child-care house or any hazardous industrial area.
This System works like this with its five parts: The Temperature Sensor Module is fitted at monitoring area, which senses current temperature and sends it to Controller Module. With the help of memory resident program Controller Module monitors for whether current sensed temperature is above/below set value. If so generates control command and send to Load Controller Module for switch On/Off Cooler/Heater or Air-conditioner. Simultaneously generates alert SMS and send it to pre-entered mobile phone number for user information. The output port connected Display Module shows current status of the system.
Since mains operated load is controlled, more care needed while designing and controlling system.
Applications:
The system is used as stand-alone Automation System at home/work-place.
Since single point control is possible, useful for non-technical people.
Since system is embedded type and wireless, portability is done very easily. Changing controlled load is very easy [Cooler Fan N Heater or Air-conditioner].
