Review: Arduino Based Rotary Encoder System

The robotics, industrial and complex home automation motors need multi-level controlling is needed in their controlling boards to save space of the system installation. Here come the rotary encoders to facilitate multi-level menu options inside any control box.

Objective: Constructing an add-on system which shows how rotary encoder works with embedded system.

Methodology is simple; the Controller Module monitors the input pin connected Rotary Encoder for any change in signals and simultaneously displays multi-level menu on Display Module. As user rotates the rotary encoder reads it with the help of memory resident program and shows user-selected menu on Display Module as visual information.

Applications:

¾    Used in industries where multilevel menus are common in production line motors.

¾    Used with servo motors and stepper motors usually for multi-function facility fine tuning and turning is needed.
